Sadpants.

Pretty sad.
I do agree with replacing the shuttle fleet, but not like this.
soon(tm)

We span the distances… 20 years from First flight to first flight across the Atlantic. We then enter into space 40 years later. In another 42 years, we wouldn’t expect anything because the great leap will take place in 80 years. It’s certainly enough time to solve some of the key issues surrounding space flight.
The shuttles did well and though it may not say this in the history books anywhere, the people that history belongs to know that the Americans were aided with their moon landing by hundreds of Canadian scientists, engineers, and researchers who lost their jobs when the Canadian government ordered the termination of the Avro Arrow. One of Canada’s blackest days and one of the Americans proudest - for it was on that very same day that Nasa recruiters showed up at the front doors of all those Avro employees homes with an exciting job opportunity.
So very proud of what we as humans have accomplished in under 100 years.
RIP Space Shuttles!
